Duo Sofia Cann and Alex B Cann with a CAN do approach! We help with marketing & communications, consultancy, coaching and mentoring, radio presenting, voiceovers and event hosting. We support individuals and small businesses and act as an extension of your team, helping to build your brand and shout about and celebrate your achievements in line with your business strategy goals and budgets.
We're a couple who have both worked in the arts, charity, media and broadcasting industry and sectors for many years. We have come together to combine 35 plus years of experience and skills to help you!
Alex is your man when it comes to radio broadcasting and podcasts, voiceovers, and event hosting. Alex also writes for various publications and is on hand to help with your copywriting and proofreading.
Sofia specialises in marketing and communications and event programming and producing and is available to support businesses and individuals. Sofia is also a publicist for a number of familiar music, screen and stage personalities, some of whom are available for bookings.
We also work with a number of trusted photographers, designers, web designers, printers, film programmers, writers, journalists, ghost writers, and other freelancers to help support you.

Publicist, Producer & Communications Consultant
I'm an experienced communications professional. I have several years' experience in marketing, PR, communications and brand development.
I have recently joined forces with film programmer Dave Garratt and broadcaster Chris Hawkins to help venues and festivals programme and produce events. Take a look at the video and gallery sections on this site.
I love working with people and brands to help find and tell their stories. I am passionate about coaching and mentoring individuals and businesses providing them with the knowledge and tools to build their own brand and tell their own stories. Helping others and seeing results is what drives me. I also love programming and producing events for venues and festivals.
I've worked as part of the communications teams at the National Media Museum (Bradford), York Theatre Royal (York) and West Yorkshire Playhouse (Leeds), Square Chapel Arts Centre (Halifax), The Old Courts in Wigan as well as a freelance Publicist, and Consultant.

ALEX B CANN

Radio Presenter, Writer & Event Host
I've loved radio since I was knee high to a grasshopper, and became England's youngest commercial radio presenter back in 1994, when I landed a Sunday evening show on Minster FM in my home town York.
After doing my Politics and Communications degree at the University of Liverpool, I found my way back into broadcasting at the age of 25, and have been there ever since!
I racked up 13 years at various stations within the UKRD Group, before hosting the Trax FM Breakfast Show in South Yorkshire and North Notts for three years. I'm still setting the early alarm clock for Tameside Radio Breakfast, which I've presented since September 2020, and I also present shows for seven other radio stations. During these crazy times, the personal connection offered by this medium has never been more vital.
As well as radio, I have hosted events, quizzes, Q&As and in conversations with author Dan Brown, artists The Real Thing and Toyah Willcox, and footballers Gareth Southgate and Danny Mills, to name a few.
My main strength is being able to communicate effectively - verbally, in writing, in person and online. I set up Cann Communications to continue doing what I love and to help the community around me by telling stories, talking on the airwaves and keeping people company.
I also love newspapers, going to the cinema and am in the world's top 14% of Phil Collins listeners, according to my latest Spotify stats.
